About Our Columbia College

Our Columbia college campus has the distinction of being the newest of all the Remington College campuses. You can see it in the new classrooms, labs and Salon at Remington – and you can feel it in the energy and enthusiasm provided of the staff and students.

Remington College invested $2.6 million to turn a former Office Max building into a modern college campus. The campus held its grand opening in 2009.

Our campuse's small class sizes may allow college students more time with their course instructors. Our experienced and professional faculty can help mentor students. And our career-relevant education programs and hands-on training can help prepare graduates for entry-level jobs in a variety of career exciting fields. (1)

Our college in Columbia, South Carolina offers diploma programs that can be completed in as few as 9 months, with some classes available both day and evening.(2) We provide opportunities for people who want to get the college education and career training they need in order to pursue the job they want. College Diploma Programs:

  • Cosmetology Training Program Our college diploma program in Cosmetology offers specialized, real-world training in such areas as safety and sanitation, state rules and regulations, skin care, nail care and related diseases and disorders, hair treatments, hair shaping, hair styling, chemical reformation and application, hair coloring, hair lightening, cosmetology sales, and management. Students at our Columbia, South Carolina campus can gain the skills and knowledge they need to qualify for their state Cosmetology license(3) and apply for entry-level work in a salon or spa.(1)

    Medical Assistant Training Program Students in the Medical Assisting college diploma program at our Columbia, South Carolina campus work closely with experienced medical assistants to train in a clinical setting, develop professional standards, assist patients, and help manage the health care office. Graduates should be prepared for entry-level positions in patient care, performing such tasks as collecting samples and specimens, taking vital signs, and conducting routine medical office tasks.   • Medical Billing Training Program Students in the Medical Billing and Coding Diploma Program at our Columbia, South Carolina campus are trained to work with health-related information and the systems used to collect, process, store, retrieve, and communicate medical billing and coding data. In as few as 9 months, our graduates should have the skills and training they need to prepare for entry-level positions as medical billers and coders in a medical facility or related health care setting.(1)

    Pharmacy Technician Training Program Students of the Pharmacy Technician college diploma program receive training in a variety of tasks, including assisting the pharmacist in filling prescriptions, compounding medications and assisting patients. Completing their coursework and hands-on training under the guidance of experienced pharmacy technicians to help prepare our Baton Rouge, Louisiana campus graduates to work in a pharmacy setting under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.(1)

Our commitment to students and graduates continues outside of our Columbia, South Carolina classrooms with our Career Services Department. Our Career Services office was designed to help our college graduates find and apply for jobs, finalize their resumes, prepare for job interviews, and connect with potential Columbia employers.(1)

Actively Involved in the Students' Community

Our Columbia college has collected toys for the Palmetto Project to help families during the holidays. We'll be holding blood drives and providing complimentary back-to-school haircuts for kids through our "Cuts for Kids" program.
